The studio thought a big name celebrity would give the show the edge it needed to gain mainstream appeal. Naturally, they got Danny DeVito.
DeVito plays Frank Reynolds, the father of Dennis and Dee, and resident freak show. He joins the gang as a parent, and makes his mark without hesitation. Often hailed as the best character, there's no denying that Frank has some of the best moments in the whole show.
