Jessica Jones Season 3 Review: 4 Ups & 6 Downs

5. Foolkiller Is An Underwhelming Villain

The primary villain for most of season three is serial killer Gregory Salinger (Jeremy Bobb), better known by his comic book moniker The Foolkiller.

Though Bobb certainly brings the required intelligent menace to the role, having Jones face off against a Dexter Morgan-like murderer for most of the season just feels like a massive downgrade from prior villains.

The first season's Kilgrave (David Tennant) was always going to be a tough act to follow, and though season two's Alisa Jones (Janet McTeer) was no match, McTeer's nevertheless performance did a solid job of elevating the uneven material.

By comparison, Foolkiller can't help but seem generic and utterly unremarkable. He immediately smacks of a mid-season filler villain who, bafflingly, ends up assuming the main antagonist role.
