J.J Abrams' UNDERCOVERS coming to NBC
NBC pickup LOST co-creator's latest project, an action-adventure series about married spies
Unsurprisingly, NBC have ordered a full series of J.J Abrams' pilot Undercovers for 2010/11. The series will focus on Steven and Samantha Bloom (Boris Kodjoe and Gugu Mbatha-Raw), two former-CIA agents who retired to get married after they fell in love, but who now find themselves reactivated when an ex-colleague goes missing. Kodjoe is a model-turned-actor who appeared in the Showtime drama Soul Food, but is perhaps more recognizable from the sci-fi movie Surrogates last year. Mbatha-Raw is a RADA-trained British actress who appeared in the BBC series Spooks, Bonekickers and series 3 of Doctor Who as companion Martha Jones' sister Tish. Abrams has made quite a name for himself in TV and film since the turn of the millennium, helping create huge hits such as Alias, Lost and Fringe. He's recently started directing big-budget movies (such as Mission Impossible III and last summer's Star Trek reboot) and also co-produced Cloverfield.
