4. War Across The Multiverse
As kindly pointed out by Miss Minutes in the animated introduction video when Loki first arrives at the TVA Headquarters, there was once a huge war between the timelines that saw each reality battle one another for supremacy.
This resulted in the TimeKeepers stepping in and forming the timeline that we have followed in the MCU, officially known as the "Sacred Timeline".
The TVA took matters into their own hands in order to maintain the timeline and ensure that everything that happens is exactly what is supposed to happen. Of course, this is not the first we've heard of a potential multiverse in the MCU - with the first mention of it arising in 2015's Ant-Man - and it is only becoming even more of a hot topic as time goes on.
With the multiverse developing and the MCU growing, the possibility of characters from other universes being introduced to the MCU timeline is as likely as ever.
Of course, we know that Loki is on a collision course with someone from another of these realities...
