Love, Death & Robots: 9 Reasons You MUST Watch

8. It Features Unique Animation Styles

Each episode was animated by different crews from a range of different countries. The result is a fascinating look at varied animation styles that range from photo-realism to classic hand-dawn and stop-motion styles. Some episodes even use a combination.

Samira Wiley (Orange Is the New Black) did motion capture for her character in Lucky 13, but it looks like it’s really her instead of a computer version. It’s very eye-opening for those who are not overly familiar with animation styles outside of the neatly packaged animated films from Disney.

The mixture of styles throughout the series is outstanding to watch unfold and feels similar to the breakout animation style that has been praised in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Ultimately it’s a celebration of different and unique art, and a series like this will encourage young artists and animators to be true to their talent.

The episodes with the most mesmerising visual effects are The Witness, Zima Blue and Fish Night, but each episode offers something special.
