Since her introduction in the first episode, Linda has grown into one of the most important characters on Lucifer, often acting as the voice of reason on the show while also dealing with her own baggage. She also helps give insight into Lucifer as a character, with their sessions allowing the audience to see how Lucifer processes his issues.
Outside of her relationship to Lucifer she's become best friends with Maze, had a child with Amenadiel, has been there for Dan when he was going through grief and stayed with Chloe when she needed a friend on her birthday.
It would be hard to imagine the show without this pivotal character and with good reason. While she might not often be involved with the police work and she's not a celestial, she brings the heart to the show and is always there to listen when another character needs her.
