One to counter the Don dies theory, because hes already dead. Those opening credits arent some gloomy foreshadowing, rather a retelling of what has already come to pass for our (anti?)hero. Dick Whitman, shortly after stealing the real Don Drapers dog tags, falls into a coma due to injuries suffered on the battlefield. Becoming Don Draper, a man he looked up to, and leaving the army behind to start a life full of wealth and women, all plays out in his head, explaining why he can never fully escape his past. It ends with a final scene of Dick/Don in hospital, as he finally passes away. This take on the it was all a dream ending would probably be seen as a bit of a cop-out, and its a stunt the show is unlikely to pull, which of course means theres every possibility it could happen.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
