9. 2. The Show-Runner
The man tasked with bringing the story of the Iron Fist to the screen is Scott Buck, whose previous credits include such acclaimed TV shows as Six Feet Under and Rome. Most notably, he served as the show-runner on Dexter for its final three seasons.
Admittedly, Buck's tenure on that show was its weakest period, but no doubt he has learnt a lot from what worked and what didn't on that series. For evidence that Buck has pulled it out of the bag with Iron Fist, Marvel are so impressed with him that they have appointed him as the show-runner of their new Inhumans TV show as well.
Funnily enough, one of the other Marvel Netflix show-runners is also a Dexter alum. Jessica Jones' Melissa Rosenberg served as the head writer on the drama for its first four seasons. For some reason, writing about a serial killer has perfectly prepared these guys for writing for Marvel superheroes.
