Marvel's Luke Cage: 10 Big Questions We're Asking After The New Trailer

Netflix have revealed the best look yet at Luke Cage, with a new trailer that fully showcases their latest entry into the Marvel Universe.

The trailer is, as you might expect, absolutely action-packed, with a big corridor fight scene that looks like it has been directly inspired by its predecessors, and gunfire designed to show off Luke Cage's bulletproof skin.

It also gives us a tease of the hero's origin story, as we see him in a 'fish tank', and the best look yet at the villains of the piece: Mahershala Ali's Cornell 'Cottonmouth' Stokes, Alfre Woodard's Mariah Dillard, and Theo Rossi's 'Shades' Alvarez.

It's a great trailer, one that makes the series look like it's clearly a part of Netflix's pre-Defenders shows, with the use of action and a dark, grounded take on superheroes, but also enough differences to make it stand alone: there's a booming hip-hop soundtrack, and the series has a vibe that makes it look like a Marvel show mixed with The Wire (the presence of Frankie Faison certainly helps in that regard).

While it peeled off a few layers, it didn't give too much away plot-wise, and if anything all it did was create a whole host of new questions that need answering.

10. What Other Cameos Can We Expect?

We already know that Claire Temple will be appearing in the series, as she continues to be the through link between each of the Defenders series, but what other appearances can we expect?

Luke Cage himself originated on Jessica Jones, where the two had a pretty close (and intense) relationship, so is there any chance she could return the favour? There's been nothing said about Krysten Ritter appearing, but it would be a nice, big surprise if she did.

Similarly, if they wanted to introduce Iron Fist before his own show debuts next year, then they might be able to work a cameo in here, though again it might be asking a bit much.

More feasible, perhaps, is someone like Jeri Hogarth. After being a supporting character in Jessica Jones she cameoed in Daredevil Season 2, and it'd certainly be plausible for her to appear here as well.
