Marvel's Luke Cage: 10 Big Questions We're Asking After The New Trailer

8. How Does Shades Fit Into Things?

Luke Cage Cottonmouth

Shades doesn't feature into the trailer as much as Cottonmouth does, but he's still expected to be an important part of the series, and a villainous one at that.

He's been described by showrunner Cheo Coker as being like the "Littlefinger of Luke Cage", which is a rather interesting description. That likely means he's going to be doing everything to further his own agenda, and working with various people only when it suits him. So we could see him allied with Cottonmouth at some point, but perhaps going against him as well depending on what he wants.

He's also said to have ties to Luke's past, so it'll be interesting to see how that ties in: will he be in-part responsible for the experiment that created him, or is it more a case of the pair growing up together on the streets of Harlem, before choosing different paths?
