Marvel's Luke Cage: 10 Big Questions We're Asking After The New Trailer

5. How Important Will Mariah Dillard Be?

Mariah Dillard, the show's take on comic character Black Mariah, is a local politician looking to bring change to Harlem, as evidenced in the trailer with her espousing about the hope for the area.

Of course, being a politician in a superhero show, naturally she's a bit corrupt. In the comics she's more overtly a villain than she will be here, but Alfre Woodard's character isn't going to be one of the good guys either.

Whether she not she'll be involved in a drug enterprise remains to be seen, but since she's the cousin of Cottonmouth, it seems pretty likely that she'll be a part of whatever shady dealings he gets up to. She may not be the main villain, but it seems like she could be one of the fiercest foes Cage has to take on.
