Marvel's Luke Cage: 10 Big Questions We're Asking After The New Trailer

2. Can Cottonmouth Match Other Netflix/Marvel Villains?

Cornell 'Cottonmouth' Stokes is Marvel's newest on-screen villain, and he's got some pretty big shoes to try and fill. The Netflix series thus far have given us two of the very best live-action villains Marvel have produced, with both Kingpin and Kilgrave being fascinatingly deep and incredibly menacing propositions.

Cottonmouth will obviously have to be another different type of character, but that's the barometer he'll be judged against, and it's a big ask for him to reach those dizzy heights. Thankfully, based on the trailer, he at least looks like having a fair crack at it.

It also remains to be seen exactly what Cottonmouth's plan is, and what his motivations are. Kingpin wanted to 'save' Hell's Kitchen, and Kilgrave wanted to control Jessica, so what does Stokes want? He's a mob boss type character, so is it money, power, (or both), or is he going to be out just to hurt Luke Cage?
