Marvel's Luke Cage: 10 Ups And 2 Downs From Season 1

9. The Action

Daredevil Season 1 set the bar in terms of superhero fight scenes, and TV fight scenes in general. It then raised it in Season 2, with a couple of breathtaking long-take battles.

The action in Luke Cage doesn't quite reach those heights, but then it doesn't really need to try. Cage is very different to Matt Murdock, with a completely unique skill-set. Daredevil is a man who relies on martial arts style and perpetual movement, going at a fast pace to take down his opponents, and it's super stylish.

Cage, meanwhile, just moves forwards, always. He's a man with super strength and unbreakable skin, so with almost no chance of him getting hurt, he can plot his course straight through the opposition, serving as a one man wrecking crew. He fights like a man with his powers should fight, barrelling through enemies and putting them through the wall or simply sending them flying backwards. It's not pretty, but it's hugely effective, and great fun to watch - especially as the bad guys realise what they're up against.
