Marvel's Luke Cage: 44 Easter Eggs You Probably Missed
31. Cottonmouth
Though the Netflix version of Cottonmouth isn't actually linked to snakes, there is a little nod in there to his past on the page. He initially wears a purple snake-skin tie as a hint to his serpentine alternate past. Both versions are similarly natty dressers.
Unlike in the comics, he's not a drug dealer (his parents instilled in him the idea that drugs are bad by chopping off a friend's finger who dared peddle them on his patch).
At one point early on, his club is referred to as a sort of new Cotton Club, which is not only a terrible (but very enjoyable) film, but also a Harlem landmark club that's been open since the early 1920s.
