Marvel's Luke Cage: 44 Easter Eggs You Probably Missed

Strangely, there are a couple of references to President Barrack Obama. But that can't make sense, surely? Isn't Matthew Ellis the president having been elected in Iron Man 3?

Well, actually, Obama’s White House Press Secretary Jay Carney is shown in the news reel footage at the end of the Avengers, suggesting he was actually the President at the time of the alien invasion. He just didn't get re-elected. Which is what happens when you let aliens invade. Makes sense.

Anyway, the show has two references to Obama - first to him singing Al Green, and then in Episode 6, Diamondback refers to politician Damon Boone as Diet Obama. Still a little odd that they'd reference the lat but one president twice...
