Marvel's Runaways Premiere: 7 Ups & 1 Down From The First Three Episodes

2. The Character Dynamics Are Great Across The Board

One of the best things about Runaways is not only that it has a phenomenal cast, but that the members of that cast click so well with one another. And it's not like only a few characters have strong chemistry. All of them do.

The Runaways all have great, believable relationships with one another. Whether it be Alex and Nico's budding feelings for one another, Gert and Chase's "polar opposites but work well as a team" dynamic, or Molly's role as the youngest, most optimistic of the group, all of the relationships here feel real and organic. Plus, there's the great overarching theme of the group as a whole facing the trials and tribulations that come with repairing a broken friendship.

Each Runaway has great chemistry with their parents as well. When the time comes for generations to clash, it genuinely feels as though the parent-child relationship is real. Based on the parents' own quirks and behaviors, the reason their respective children appear and act the way they do makes a lot of sense.

Ultimately, the cast of Runaways is not only objectively great, but is also one of Marvel's best chemistry-wise.
