Marvel's Daredevil: 10 Reasons It's The Best Comic Book Show Ever
8. The Supporting Cast Is Uniformly Excellent
Elden Henson is spectacularly likeable as Foggy Nelson, a character who could lean towards caricature if in the wrong hands. He has impeccable chemistry with Cox have brilliant chemistry and he brings great comic relief to a very serious show, but also more than holds his own when called upon to deliver some heart-wrenching drama.
Deborah Ann Woll's Karen Page is far more than the typical love interest. In fact, even though she is one of Daredevil's main squeezes in comic book history, the show wisely chooses not to go that route in the first season. Karen is the catalyst for the entire plot of the series and she plays an active role throughout, even roping in Vondie Curtis-Hall's reporter Ben Urich for their own side investigation into Wilson Fisk.
Curtis-Hall brings a gentle dignity to Urich. He is a man dissatisfied with the fluff pieces he has been writing for his newspaper, who wants to dig in to an important piece of investigative journalism, but he is also not stupid. He knows exactly how dangerous the city is and is always studious and careful with his decisions.
The acting in Daredevil is simply note perfect, which is more than can be said for the other comic book shows on the air, which house the occasional dud performance or less-than-capable actor.
