Back at the never-dull location of Matt's apartment, and as Elektra is recovering Matt comes under attack from a mystery assailant. 

At first it seems as though it's just another standard member of the Hand, but once he's defeated and his mask pulled off it turns out that he's just a kid. 

While that's enough to stop Matt from doling out any further punishment, Elektra shows just how different she is to him by stepping up - apparently now feeling a lot better - and slits the throat of the kid. She may be a trained assassin, but still, mercilessly killing a child is absolutely brutal, even if he is part of the Hand.
