Marvel's The Defenders: 8 Big Questions We Need Answers To

As previously mentioned, there are a few eyebrow-raising rumours revolving around The Defenders. One such theory goes that "the primary antagonist" of the mini-series will be shockingly revealed to be Mephisto - basically the Marvel Comics' version of the Devil himself.

This sounds like an utterly ridiculous idea at first, as such an overtly supernatural character would be a strange foe for the grounded street-level heroes to face. That said, Iron Fist will start to mix in the mystical to this corner of the MCU, so it might not be too far-fetched. Still, I'm not really sure what good these relatively underpowered heroes could do against all the otherworldly abilities of Satan. That'd be like sending a group of criminals to face an all-powerful witch. Yes, that was a DC dig in a Marvel article. Original, I know.

For now, this rumour leaves us sceptical but, who knows, stranger things have happened in the Marvel Cinematic Universe before. You never know, it could be fun to see Daredevil come up against the real Devil.
