Wilson Fisk is back! If we’re being honest, that’s about all anyone cared about going into the Hawkeye finale. When the Kingpin finally appeared at the end of episode five after being teased all season, you could have been forgiven for forgetting there was a whole story revolving around the two Hawkeyes that needed concluding.

That’s not to say that the series wasn’t great, because it was, it’s just that something like this was always going to steal the show. Vincent D’Onofrio picked up exactly where he left off three years prior in Daredevil, with a truly compelling performance that left fans dying for more.

However, there was so much more to the surprisingly emotional sixth episode of Hawkeye. For one thing, on full display was one of the genuine highlights of Phase Four so far, which was the back and forth and unparalleled chemistry between Kate Bishop and Yelena Belova.

Add in the latter’s powerful showdown with Clint, this was further proof, as if anyone needed it by now, that Hawkeye was and always has been a badass. Of all the MCU series on Disney+ so far, Hawkeye has easily the most pleasantly surprising, and this was epitomised in its finale.
