6. The Animation Is Stellar
Not only is What If…? unique in the way that it shows different stories with familiar characters, based off a single moment in time spinning out into another timeline in the multiverse, it is the MCU’s first foray into the world of animation.
Compared to other Disney properties, in the world of Disney Animation and Disney Pixar, What If…? can’t be considered on the same level in terms of quality. However, that is an incredibly high bar previously set to live up to, and it was still a wonderful spectacle to behold aesthetically.
Since this is the first time the franchise has ever stepped into this world, it would be unfair to expect perfection. There is no denying however, that it was a fantastic and unique way to bring these new and different stories to the screen.
Throughout the franchise there have been some truly stunning set pieces, and this property is absolutely no different. With later episodes set to explore space and the mystic arts, there is even more opportunity going forward for Marvel Studios to show what they are capable of.
