How I Met Your Mother: 25 Best Moments From The Finale

15. Robin€™s Awkward Meeting With Marshall

The end of Gary Blauman a couple of weeks ago gave us the depressing presentation of how people can easily drift apart in life, running through where a plethora of recurring characters ended up. What the finale showed further was that it wasn't just acquaintances; the group itself also began to grow distant. This is exemplified by Marshall€™s awkward meeting with Robin at the farewell flat/Halloween party. After nine years of seeing these guys as friends (although Marshall and Robin have always been a little distant, as seen in The Mermaid Theory) it was a crushing realisation of the passing of time to have then so unacquainted.

14. The Playbook II

How many times did Barney destroy The Playbook in a bid to show his devotion for Robin? Now an early hint he wasn€™t quite ready to settle down just yet, the epic tome (which even has its own real-world equivalent) was chock full of hilariously seedy tricks for pulling women and quickly became a fan favourite. Once he was single again, of course Barney resurrected his prowl bible. The show even gave us two new plays, shown to that catchy music; €œThe Mannequin" (Barney play a mannequin who €˜magically€™ comes to life) and "The Jim Nacho€ (Barney poses as the creator of nachos). Hilarious.
