How I Met Your Mother: Barney's 10 Most Brilliant Plays

2. The Barney

While not one of Barney's plays, The Barney deserves mention because of how ingenious it is. In "The Bro Mitzvah" (S8E22) Barney comes up with a list of absolute requirements for his bachelor party (or Bro Mitzvah): booze, cigars, strippers, fearing for their lives, mind-blowing entertainment, Karate Kid appearance, "alone time" during the strip show, telling crazy sex stories, spontaneous decision to be regretted, spend way too much money, lose a bro at some point, at least one real moment between bros, girlfight, and if the bride hears what happens she'll be furious. Barney tells Ted and Marshall they will disappoint him, and after he leaves, Marshall wonders how they can make a memorable night for the guy who makes every night the best night of his life. Robin comes up with the solution€”give him the worst night of his life. Robin plans out the worst night for Barney, taking his requirements and checking them off in the most twisted way possible. The entire episode is one long play, so it's best to just go back and watch the episode yourself if you haven't seen it, with the night culminating in the appearance of William Zabka, who in Barney's mind is "the real Karate Kid."
