Metropolis: 10 Things The Superman Prequel Must Include

8. A Watergate Style Story

With Steven Spielberg's The Post tipped to win just about everything this awards season, it could be said that Pakula-esque, journalistic thrillers are experiencing something of a revival.

Chief among that genre rests All the President's Men, Alan Pakula's 1976 classic that told the tale of Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein's efforts to unearth the Nixon Presidency's ties to the Watergate break-in. Who could DC's Nixon be? Well, there is one businessman who seems to have a hand in everything in Metropolis, and not a single hair rests on his head.

Yes, the aforementioned Lex (who even became president at the turn of the century, by the way), is the prime candidate to head this kind of conspiracy. Metropolis has potential to be this crazy little House of Cards-esque thing, following on from classic capers like Pakula's opus, and it'd be a shame if it were to adopt a different tone altogether.

Plus, y'know, who doesn't want to see Lois and the rest of the Planet cracking a conspiracy on their own?
