Was there a more emotional character arc in the whole of Modern Family than watching Haley grow up?
It's a well known fact, and brilliant running gag, that Haley Dunphy is most certainly not the sharpest tool in the shed. She is often confused by long conversations, distracted by shiny objects and doesn't understand when her sister, Alex, is insulting her. Despite her ditsy exterior, Haley showed a heart of gold and incredible determination when she saw something that she wanted.
Played amazingly by Sarah Hyland, we saw Haley go through the highs and lows of growing up: the heartbreaks, the partying, the college years, before ultimately finding her true calling. After 250 episodes and 11 seasons, it was truly heartwarming to see her find the man of her dreams and even become a mother to twins.
