3. Outstanding New Cast Members

There are a ton of terrific new characters introduced for the new season, the stand-outs of which include the aforementioned Maritza and Messina, as well as cabbie Limon (who has a surprisingly large and well-developed role) and the brilliant no-nonsense Attorney General Dr. Gustavo de Greiff, who won't take the President's s***.

Changing-up the cast is an easy way to add new flavour to a show as it presses on, and these four in particular add a hugely compelling presence to season two. Seeing Limon begin as a lowly cabbie and become increasingly embroiled in Escobar's world is particularly fascinating to observe.
