Since its premiere in 2003, NCIS has enjoyed unprecedented success, featuring the lives of an intrepid team of investigators solving naval criminal cases. Amongst its talented cast - which includes Mark Harmon and David McCallum - it was the role of Abby, played by Pauley Perrette, which left an indelible mark with viewers worldwide.
Although Abby recently departed the show after 15 seasons, fans enjoyed over 350 episodes (plus spin-off appearances) of the quirky criminologist, who Agent Anthony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) once described as "a paradox wrapped in an oxymoron smothered in contradictions."
But there's more -- lots more -- to the multi-faceted character of Abby Sciuto.
She first appeared on the CBS legal drama, JAG, which served as the backdoor pilot for NCIS. Show co-creator Don Bellisario wanted the role to reveal a smart (and well-caffeinated) professional with an alternative lifestyle that went against against conventional stereotypes. Pauley Perrette did the rest -- infusing her infectious charisma, humor and a background that included studying criminal science prior to her acting career.
So pour yourself a large mug of "Caf-Pow" (Abby's beverage of choice) and test your wits in our latest quiz!
