Netflix: 10 Upcoming Titles To Be Excited About From SWNAsia

An upcoming anime based on a manga of the same name, Mushikago no Cagaster, Cagaster Of An Insect Cage shows off an almost fantastical sci-fi future in which giant insects dominate the land.

In the manga, a disease called Cagaster turns its infected victims into giant, man-eating insects, decimating most of Asia. Thirty years later, a young Exterminator named Kidou meets a dying man who's to turn into an insect, who asks him to deliver his daughter to her mother.

Cagaster more resembles fantasy stories like those seen in Japanese RPGs than most post-apocalyptic sci-fi media seen today, and details the story of a reluctantly empathetic warrior in Kidou and a sweet, kindly girl Ilie, and their journey across perilous land to bring Ilie to the only family she has left.

It's a limited series, having finished in 2016, so it's exciting to see how Netflix plans to bring this particular action/adventure sci-fi story to the screen, and whether they plan to end it where the manga did, or to extend it for the newer media.
