Another testament to the pulling power of nostalgia, this was also helped to the number one spot by a decade of waiting, the hype of those four last words, and the fact it was just four (feature-length) episodes.

This, however, is one of the better examples of a TV revival in recent years. It does have some missteps, such as the musical subplot and a lot of Rory's arc, but on the whole feels like a pitch-perfect continuation.

Lauren Graham and Kelly Bishop are once again on great form, Amy Sherman-Palladino's dialogue is as whip-fast, razor-sharp, and full of pop-culture references as ever, and it was a delight to spend six hours back in Stars Hollow.
