Netflix Live-Action One Piece Review: 7 Ups And 4 Downs
5. Up: The Unique Cinematography
Yes, okay, the sheer amount of close-ups is a problem. But, in every other regard, Netflix's One Piece does a bang-up job of having a distinct visual identity, especially in the cinematography.
Whether it's the dynamic and well-choreographed fight scenes, the use of unexpected angles and camera movements, or the unique framing of characters, it's safe to say this is a show with plenty of artistic flair.
There are loads of other creative choices that stand out. One great example is the use of bounty posters, which appear every time a new major pirate is introduced. This not only provides an idea of the new person but highlights the importance of bounties in this world.
One Piece is shot in a way that other Netflix shows aren't, and hell, even those close-ups are at least something different.
