Netflix is unquestionably the leading provider of high quality television in today's market, but not even it has been able to avoid the 'too many episodes' debacle. While most network television shows struggle with 22 weekly installments, the streaming service has previously struggled with anything from 9 - 13 - with shows like Iron Fist and Jessica Jones feeling oversaturated.

The Politician's respectable episode count of eight benefited it a great deal, and it seems that Murphy has taken that under his notice because Hollywood's debut offering only has a seven-episode run.

Given how full-on both of those shows can be, it's a wise move to adopt the less is more approach in terms of content production and, having seen Hollywood, this writer can say that it certainly benefits from it.
