Before the Luke Cage panel got underway, Jeph Loeb came out with a special guest: Jon Bernthal, aka Frank Castle, aka The Punisher.

Considering how great his performance in the second season of Daredevil was, as well as his popularity from being on The Walking Dead, it's hardly a shocker that the Hall H crowd are said to have went absolutely nuts for him.

Bernthal spoke quite a bit about the character, and clearly has a lot of respect and love for him, saying:

"I know how much this character matters. I know how much he means to members of the military and law enforcement. I take it as an enormous honour. Marvel fans and comic book fans are the greatest fans in the world. Frank is in my bones now and he's with me. If anything, it makes me love my family harder and squeeze my kids harder."

A Netflix Punisher series was confirmed a couple of months ago, though there's been no word on it since. While Comic-Con didn't tell us what we might see, Loeb did at least give an indication of the timescale, saying: "We’re now going into production on a series for The Punisher.”
