Netflix's Stranger Things Review: 8 Ups And 3 Downs

1. A Slight Lack Of Explanation

Whether this is a down or not really depends on a couple of things: whether you're fine with certain things being left a mystery, and whether or not this show gets a second season. If the answer to either of those is yes, then this one might not matter too much.

As it stands, while the show delivers a satisfying conclusion to its main narrative, tying up the loose ends that truly matter, there are quite a few elements that it decides not to explain. Either because it doesn't have time, it's saving them for Season 2, or the show simply isn't interested in providing answers to these questions, we're left wondering about the world we see entered through this one, and exact nature, purpose, and scope of the experiments being carried out, and what exactly the creature is, where it's from, or what it wants.

The mythology that underpins the show is lacking a great explanation when you start prodding at it, but when the show is this enjoyable, it's easier to forgive.
