Netflix's Stranger Things Review: 8 Ups And 3 Downs

1. A Mostly Satisfying Conclusion

When a show is hanging on a mystery, and it's one you become truly invested in, the worst thing it can do is fall at the final hurdle. If everything up to that point has been great, but the reveal is a let-down, then that's going to be your takeaway.

Thankfully, Stranger Things sticks the landing. It's not yet clear whether or not this is a one-off limited series, or if it'll return for a Season 2 (it may depend on how many people watch it), and that does play into things, as it's certainly left open for a follow-up.

However, the main threads, with Will's disappearance and Eleven's arrival, are wrapped up, in a way that feels right for the show you've spent the last eight hours with, and should provide plenty of satisfaction regardless of a potential second season. Will being found and returned to his family is fitting, as it seemed the show was likely going to head that way, and that goes the same of Eleven's mysterious end, which catches you a little more off-guard but makes sense for her character, and teases things nicely for Season 2 without leaving too much hanging.
