New Girl premiered on September 20th in 2011 and came to an end after seven seasons and 146 episodes just last year. Originally developed under the horrifyingly bad name "Chicks & Dicks" it was an instant hit with 10.28 million viewers tuning in for the pilot.
Starring Zooey Deschanel as Jess Daly, it succeeded mostly because of the strength of the characters, their chemistry and the writing. It was hugely quotable, massively relatable (there's a good chance you related hard to at least one of the characters) and very funny. It was sad to see it go, but the characters will live on and most of the stars have gone on to have even more impressive careers on the back of it.
