The New Disney XD animated series Tron Uprising begins in June and this new trailer, offering a closer look at the hand drawn elements of the show, looks pretty stunning. With a voice cast that boasts Elijah Wood, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Mandy Moore, Nate Corddry, (the man, the legend) Lance Henriksen, Paul Reubens, Reginald VelJohnson and Bruce Boxleitner reprising his role as Tron, this animated show looks to do what the movies have done and not look like anything else Disney creates and slants towards a more grown up audience. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wE7qsfQQGGs So the synopsis goes, this series will have Tron training young program Beck to battle against Clu on the grid. So far the teasers are looking very impressive indeed and the computer animation is doing a nice job and capturing and expanding what was achievedin both the original Tron and Tron Legacy. I don't know about you guys but Tron always seems to capture something in my imagination. I have a passing admiration for the original and I flat out loved the recent sequel as it turned out to be a great deal of fun and offered up quite a lot of promise for the future of the franchise. There's still talk of a third Tron movie in the works but until there's something solid on that, this animated series looks to be trying to fill a gap in our electronic hearts and minds. So what do you guys think? Will the series fare any better than the movies did and create the much needed buzz to generate a second sequel? Will a TV platform enable to the story to develop deeper into the grid or is Tron a little too cool for kids to get their teeth into and the chances of this hitting a second season seems slight? I know I'm in to see where Tron Uprising goes. You?
