While watching a Star Wars property, you may notice certain aspects are eerily similar to another entry in the series.

If this was any other franchise, these parallels may be coincidental. But when it comes to Star Wars, comparisons like this are usually deliberate.

Although Obi-Wan Kenobi makes parallels like this regularly, the fourth episode has a few noteworthy connections with the original Star Wars.

Throughout the episode, Reva interrogates Leia, much like how Vader questioned her in A New Hope. Obi-Wan infiltrates the fortress to rescue Leia by dressing up as an Imperial, just like how Luke and Han disguised themselves as Stormtroopers to rescue the princess.

The most obvious callback is when Obi-Wan attempts to speak to Tala with his comlink. During the mission, Tala places her comlink down, preventing our hero from communicating with her.

This is a direct reference to the original film when Luke Skywalker tries to speak to C-3PO through a comlink but he doesn't hear him since he leaves his communicator on a table. Just to make the callback more obvious, the same type of comlink is used, and the shot is framed identically.
