Regardless of your own personal opinion towards the show, there's no denying The Big Bang Theory was one of the greatest American sitcoms of the modern generation. Perhaps the greatest reason for that was because of Sheldon's persona on the show, particularly as it pertained to eventual wife, Amy Farrah Fowler.
Introduced in the show's third season, Amy is in many ways the female version of Dr Cooper, at least for her earlier seasons. She's quirky, doesn't quite grasp the concept of socialising with others, and is in no way looking for a romantic relationship. Of course, this all changes later on, which is what makes Amy such an intriguing character.
