Orange Is The New Black: 5 Ups And 5 Downs From Season 3

3. Married Morello - Up

Things didn't go too well for everyone€™s favourite good-natured-if-crazy-and-slightly-racist Italian-American inmate last year, what with the big reveal that her fiancee Christopher was actually a guy she€™d been stalking and tried to kill. While it ended with her being extremely downbeat, this season saw Morello getting back to her chipper self, full of the sort of optimism and hilarious lines the audience has come to know her for (asking: €œDo you hear yourself, like, when you speak?€ to Piper was a particular highlight). She started to get guys to visit her in prison, in order to scam them for money, and ends up meeting Vince. He beats up Christopher for her, which in Morello€™s mind is like Ted Mosby standing outside the window with a blue French-horn. She rips out a picture of a ring from a magazine and places it on his finger, asking him to marry her. He accepts, and they have their ceremony in the prison. It could all have been ridiculous, but because of what we know about Morello, and how we just want her to have happiness, it comes across as a sweet moment and a great ending (for now) for the character.
