Orange Is The New Black Season 2: 12 Things That Should Happen

8. Healy Gets Fired

A correctional officer first introduced through his altercations with Piper, initially Healy (Michael Harney) appears to be genuinely concerned for her wellbeing. Over time, his fondness for her is revealed to be borne from a misguided notion that they share a common bond. The kicker being that they do - they both love women. Alas, as season one progressed his true nature emerged - a power-trippin€™, passive-aggressive authority figure who took it personally when Piper€™s sexual orientation was made public. So much for staying out of inmate business, he went out of his way to call Piper€™s fiance Larry and update him on her shenanigans. First off, there€™s no doubt he€™s a villainous character - but it€™s his methods of tyranny that are so damn terrifying. He doesn€™t yell, or exaggerate himself, it€™s his quiet way of ruining Piper€™s life that marks him as one of the prison staff who€™s got to go in season two. Still not convinced? His €œturning the other cheek€ motion during the season one finale - wherein Doggett is armed with a shiv and planning to turn Piper into a human strainer - was the last straw.
