Orphan Black: 10 Reasons We Can't Wait Until Season 2
2. Alison
It's strange to think that initially it seemed like Alison might be the dullest character in Tatiana Maslany's repertoire. She's the most uptight of the clones and is obsessed with the minutiae of her suburban lifestyle, and she's also unreasonably rude to Sarah in the beginning. However, throughout the season it's revealed that she's desperate to protect her children from her secret, and that she's probably struggling with alcoholism. Then she kills someone. The scene earlier in the season in which Alison tortures her husband Donnie with a nail gun when she believes him to be her monitor is darkly comic, but by the season one finale there's nothing left to laugh about. Alison, of all people, pulls a Walter White and watches blankly as her friend Aynsley is strangled by her garbage disposal, convinced that Aynsley was her monitor. The kicker comes towards the end of the finale, when Donnie is finally revealed as his wife's monitor after all, meaning that Alison just watched an innocent woman die. It'll be devastating if and when Alison discovers the truth, but even if that doesn't happen this season, she's spiralling out of control and the consequences won't be pretty.
