Ozark: Ranking Every Main Character Worst To Best
4. Helen Pierce
Omar Navarro's lawyer is a large part of why Season Three was so brilliant. Introduced in the second season, Helen pierce replaced Del as the cartel's representative and quickly established herself as an entirely captivating villain.
Helen is given significant dimension compared to the other cartel members as she too lives in fear of getting on Omar's bad side. Introducing Helen's daughter Erin was a good way of bringing her closer to Wendy and watching the two powerful women run circles around the men in the Ozarks was awesome to watch.
She is at the the centre of many tense and nail biting scenes such as when she has Ruth waterboarded and her calm and confident demeanour adds to her prowess. After Ben is introduced in Season Three and he begins causing problems for Helen, she gets her moment to truly terrify the audience. In one scene, Ben confronts Helen in front of her daughter about Helen's work with the cartel. Helen shields her daughter from an aggressive Ben but it is Helen's face that shows us how furious she is. It is the kind of face that let the audience know there was no way Ben was surviving the season.
Janet McTeer is woefully underappreciated for her work on this show as she enthrals the audience in every scene she's in. Her death scene is fittingly sudden and shocking and she will be missed more than any other character in the show's final season.
