Ozark: Ranking Every Main Character Worst To Best

Julia Garner's star making performance as Ruth is consistently the most fun thing on Ozark and she is easily the most iconic character on the show. Bad mouthed and no nonsense, Ruth's attitude does not discriminate depending on who is talking to her, she will verbally destroy anyone put in front of her.

Raised in the Ozarks and living in a trailer with her criminal family, Ruth has lofty ambitions of rising up out of her surroundings and making something of herself by any means necessary. She is sly and ruthless and is not afraid to kill to survive.

Ruth eventually grows close to Marty and his family after he sees the potential in her as he begins to train her in some form of mentor/student relationship. Ruth begins to gain more clout and control as the seasons go on as Marty trusts her with more responsibility.

Ruth is hot headed which has got her into some dangerous situations but it is her boyfriend Ben who endangers everyone the most. After Ben is killed thanks to Wendy giving him up, Ruth resents the Byrdes and falls back in with her estranged cousin Wyatt and his lover Darlene.

After the Byrdes, what happens to Ruth is the biggest question mark going into the final season. After everything she's done for Marty and everything she's been through, she deserves a happy ending.
