A ranking of the good, the bad and the worst by order of the Peaky Blinders!

Peaky Blinders
BBC

Steven Knight's Birmingham gangster epic focusing on the troubles and exploits of the Shelby family has grown into a worldwide hit for good reason. Aside from the period setting, visceral violence and gorgeous cinematography, there is one reason that Peaky Blinders is as great as it is: the characters.

The family saga featuring Tommy Shelby and co has seen an assortment of characters come and go over its first five seasons and it's impressive how many of them have managed to be memorable and integral. From gangsters to their wives, from communists to fascists, from gypsies to Jews, Peaky Blinders has an ever expanding menagerie of colourful characters at its disposal.

Characters that were in a handful of episodes could have made more of an impression than those that have appeared in every single episode. Certain individuals that have appeared in all of those episodes also have a varied degree of importance from season to season. This gives the show a broad degree of development for everyone across the five seasons. The amazing combination of Knight's writing and these actors' performances have made for some of the best characters ever put on screen.

20. Gina Gray

Peaky Blinders
BBC

Gina arrives in Birmingham as Michael's new wife at the start of Season Five. She is stand-offish and arrogant and is definitely going to be an obstacle for the Peaky Blinders moving forward. She plays into Michael's building resentment of Tommy and his ambitious streak also.

She has clearly been positioned along with Michael to be a predominant threat to the Shelby family in Season Six, but that left her Season Five screen time relatively minimal. She had a particularly good showing in the finale, however, as she made it very clear that Tommy Shelby doesn't frighten her in the slightest.

Anya Taylor-Joy is a great talent and they're lucky to have tied down the very in demand actress, as it is. Knowing her skills and the character's connection to Michael, Gina is poised for big things in Season Six.
