2. Jesus DeSade's Paedophilia
Though this character only appears in one issue of Preacher, he has become one of its most controversial talking points. Jesus DeSade is the extremely wealthy leader of the Gomorrah People: hedonists who have dedicated their lives to indulging in every form of pleasure imaginable - the more taboo/forbidden the better.
Jesse and Cassidy arrive to one of DeSade's legendary parties, where various debauched behaviour is under-way, but it all seems to involve consenting adults (well, non-consenting animals too) ... at least initially. At one point Jesse wanders onto a porn set where DeSade is preparing to shoot a scene, and is amused at first, until he notices the crying child in the corner.
Though we never actually see the boy being harmed, it's still a very disturbing, largely unnecessary moment that surely won't make the TV show. In fact, nothing that happens at the party really serves to further the story so don't be surprised if Jesus DeSade is cut entirely.
