Preacher Season 3 Premiere: 8 Ups & 2 Downs From 'Angelville'
1. Welcome To The Show, Marie L'Angelle
We've heard rumblings of the villainous Marie L'Angelle in previous episodes, but Angelville was the first time we were introduced to the evil woman onscreen.
While we initially meet her in a flashback (more on that later), the first time we see her in the present day is when she wheels around her creaky mansion like Joan Crawford in Whatever Happened To Baby Jane?, which made her all the more terrifying.
We know quite a bit about her already. We learned in the second season that L'Angelle locked Jesse in a coffin underwater when he was a child in an attempt to make him disown his father, and we witnessed the brutality she inflicted on her own daughter via flashbacks, but it's likely that the show has only begun to scratch the suface with the character. If she lives up to her reputation from the Preacher comic books, then Marie L'Angelle could turn out to be the scariest antagonist yet.
