40. Valar Dohaeris (Season 3, Episode 1)
This is another episode where very little happens, and the stage is being set for the events to come in Season 3. Jon Snow meets Mance Rayder for the first time, Tywin threatens to hang the next whore he finds in Tyrions bed, Davos is rescued by Sallador Sahn and threatens to assassinate Melisandre, and Robb Stark arrives at Harrenhal. The only major revelation is the return of Barristan Selmy at the end of the episode. In the books, he comes into Danys service under the guise of Arstan Whitebeard for a few chapters, but with the visual medium of television, that would have been hard to pull off. Also, book readers should be pretty upset that there no was no inclusion of the character Strong Belwas in the television show.
