30. The Wars To Come (Season 5, Episode 1)
For the first time in Game Of Thrones history, there's a flashback. Is this Lost? The first flash goes to Cersei when she was a little girl being cursed by Maggy the Frog. This might open the floodgates for future flashbacks, and maybe even a Better Call Saul-like prequel spinoff where they could portray Roberts Rebellion in full (hopefully). In addition, Tyrion Lannister is freed from his confinements, and teaches everyone about the art of shoving your own faeces through a hole. Anyway, the end of the episode is a pretty striking departure from the books, because it involves the death of Mance Rayder, where in the books hes still very much alive. It seems unlikely he will return for the show, baring some excellent subterfuge, so it was a shame to see such a great character leave.
