Evidence: Possibly shockingly low for some, but Leonard is our in-point for the show, so he's usually the one who witnesses the greatest acts of geeky buffoonery with enough awareness for the comedy to work. But even then, when he's thrust into social circles, or has to be a "real man" he tends to show his true colours, and there's no denying he is a proper nerd.
