Ranking Every 2017 Comic Book TV Show Worst To Best

21. The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead Rick Grimes
Gene Page/AMC

It's hard to believe that The Walking Dead has been going for seven whole years now, but it's true. There's little sign of AMC's cult hit slowing (not literally speaking of course - that second season was dreadful), and while that might be good news for some, it's anything if not lamentable for others.

Season 7 was slow to start, but it ended somewhat strongly, setting up the following season to adapt the comic's 'All Out War' storyline. Except - for now at least - nothing has come of it. We're back to the same formulaic nonsense that's pervaded the show for the last six or so years, which makes those brief flurries of brilliance feel totally meaningless, in the grand scheme of things.

It might be harsh to judge Season 8 solely on its opening few weeks, but - so far at least - there've been no signs of any genuine change. As long as The Walking Dead continues to fall down that path, so too will it fall down in our estimations.
